活頁琵琶譜《大浪淘沙 龍船》(華彥鈞演奏譜)
This loose leaf pipa score was published by the People’s Music Press on Sept 1978. I bought it some twenty years ago. I remember that I had used this score and played the first melody, “waves washing away beach sands" (大浪淘沙) in the school hall to hundreds of students in a gathering. I was teaching in that secondary school at that time. I couldn’t remember the exact year and date and the theme of that gathering. They were almost completely losted in my memory until this thin, old score caught my sight tonight.
I have never played the second melody, “dragon boat", also arranged and played by HUA Yan-jun. My pipa teacher, Mr. NG Kwok-choi, didn’t teach me this second melody. He taught me another version of “dragon boat" (龍舟) arranged by LUI Zhen-yuan when I was studying in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
May be some of my old students who read this message can remind me of that nearly losted “trail" and tell me about their impressions?
